On Sunday, Nov. 2, the Blackhawks recognized Marian Hossa for tallying his 1,000th point in the National Hockey League. The outstanding milestone was reached with a goal on Oct. 30 against the Ottawa Senators.

Imagine being over ten hours ahead of your favorite team during Game 7 of the Western Conference Final. Not ideal.
But Master Sergeant (Ret.) Robert Izydorek is used to it. Stationed in Misawa Air Force Base, in a remote area about 350 miles north of Tokyo, Bob describes the difficulties that come along with being the season ticketholder that has the farthest to travel for a Blackhawks home game.
The defensive stalwart is remembered by fans as a participant of six All-Star Games and a thrice selected second-team NHL All-Star. But White, along with his defense partner Pat Stapleton, was known by his teammates as a relentless prankster.

chicagoblackhawks.com went back in the archives to find this snapshot of Leighton's first NHL win, coming against the Blues in St. Louis on April 3, 2003. Steve Passmore gave the game puck to Leighton after he helped the Blackhawks beat the Blues 6-4.
Last Thursday, Alyssa Koeppler helped her 5-year-old neighbor Kyle prepare for his first event ahead of kindergarten – a Teddy Bear Picnic. His elementary school in Lake in the Hills offers new kindergarteners the opportunity to meet with their teacher, read a book and eat some cookies to ease into the new school year.
Alyssa, who watches her neighbor during the day, instructed Kyle to pick out a stuffed animal for the Teddy Bear Picnic.
“Kyle ran upstairs and without any hesitation at all,” Alyssa explained, “brought his [Patrick] Kane doll with him.”

Check out what the Blackhawks locker room looked like when the United Center was built in 1994. The room was remodeled in 2008 to make it more functional and comfortable for the players.

For Jane Labowitch, creating intricate designs using an Etch A Sketch is a skill she’s been honing since she was 4.
“I've done well over 100 pieces on an Etch A Sketch,” said Labowitch, also known as Princess Etch A Sketch. “If I could estimate, I'd say at least around 300.”
Her abilities were put to the test when upon offering up a custom Etch A Sketch piece as a raffle prize at a work event, the winner requested something to display in their Blackhawks-themed basement.
On Tuesday, the Blackhawks agreed to terms with center Brad Richards on a one-year deal. The Photo Blog went to the archives (ok, not that long ago) to dig up this beauty from 2008.
