With their second-to-last pick of the 1983 NHL Entry Draft in Montreal, the Chicago Blackhawks selected goaltender named Dominik Hasek 207th overall. This 10th-rounder would go on to win six Vezina Trophies and two Hart trophies in Buffalo, and a Stanley Cup with Detroit.

In the history of the draft, the Blackhawks have found their share of gems, players that were selected in the later rounds but would go on to make substantial impacts on the team. Here's a look at the biggest steals in Blackhawks draft history.

1. Steve Larmer—selected in the sixth round (120th overall) in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft in Montreal.

Steve Larmer snuck under the radar in 1980 when he was selected in the sixth round, but now ranks in the Blackhawks' top-five in points (923), goals (406) and assists (517). He won the Calder Memorial Trophy for Rookie of the Year in 1983. Larmer played in 891 games in 12 seasons with the Blackhawks, placing him at No. 7 on the franchise leaderboard for games played in a Blackhawks sweater.
