Each week, the Blackhawks Blog will give you five stats you need to know about the Blackhawks this season.

1. The Blackhawks are 7-0-0 this year when Patrick Kane records more than one point.

Chicago earned a 6-2 win over Phoenix on Thursday with the help of Kane’s three-point performance. The win marked the 11th straight game that Chicago has earned a point to begin the 2012-13 season. The Blackhawks have scored a total of 31 goals when Kane records a multi-point game. Speaking of Kane’s multi-point games…

Saad poses with the puck with which he scored his first NHL goal.

The wait is over. After earning praise from Head Coach Joel Quenneville and his teammates for his on-ice contributions, Brandon Saad notched his first goal—of what we can only assume will be many—at the NHL level. His tally got the Blackhawks on the board on Tuesday at San Jose in an eventual 5-3 victory.

"I had my chances throughout the season, and it finally happened tonight," Saad told the media after the game. "It's pretty exciting."

Teammate Patrick Kane had faith that the 20-year-old rookie would reach that milestone soon enough.

"It was a long time coming for him," Kane said. "He played great again tonight. He's fast and gets a lot of chances, especially playing with Johnny [Toews] and [Marian] Hossa. He's been a great addition and I’m sure we’ll see many more from him. Everyone in here’s happy for him.”

Each week, the Blackhawks Blog will give you five stats you need to know about the Blackhawks this season.

1. Patrick Kane opened the season with a four-game point streak for the second consecutive year.

Kane’s team-leading seven points (2G, 5A) in four games ties his longest season-opening streak, a four-game run to kick off the 2011-12 campaign (2G, 4A). Kane sits tied for third in league point scoring.
