On Monday, Oct. 15, Blackhawks Television Color Analyst Eddie Olczyk will be officially inducted into the United States Hockey Hall of Fame in Dallas, Texas. Olczyk will be the 17th Blackhawk in franchise history to be honored with that distinction, and he spent time on the same side of the ice with five of the other 16 inductees (none of the remaining 11 laced up their skates for the Blackhawks past 1950)! The well-connected Illinois native's teammates are outlined in today's edition of The Friday Five: The Six Degrees of Eddie O.

Gladiator combats. Chariot races. Ice hockey.

That’s right, in just about a weeks’ time ice hockey will be played at Pula Arena, a Roman amphitheater in Croatia built between 27 B.C. and 68 A.D. Medveščak Zagreb (Croatia) of the Erste Bank Hockey League will take on Olimpija Ljubljana (Slovenia) in the 2012 Arena Ice Fever exhibition series next Friday in the 2,000-year-old arena.
