Today in Blackhawks history: Feb. 12, 1942

On this date in 1942, Hall of Famer Bill Mosienko set a franchise record collecting four points as a rookie. The Blackhawks went on to defeat Detroit 4-2 at the Chicago Stadium.

In 1977, Dick Redmond became the 1st Blackhawks defenseman to score a hat trick, leading Chicago to a 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Patrick Sharp scored his 1st goal in a Blackhawks sweater on Feb. 12, 2006, against the Ducks in Anaheim.
