Goalie Mike Karakas was in net for the Blackhawks during the only recorded "perfect game"—no goals, no penalties—in NHL history.

In what may have been the only "perfect" game in NHL history, the Blackhawks and Maple Leafs battled to a scoreless tie at the Stadium on February 20, 1944, with no penalties called in the match.
