Marian Hossa's 900th career point came in the form of a power-play goal scored from the middle of the slot at 4:09 of the third period against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Nothing fancy required, just good positioning, some help from a teammate—rookie Andrew Shaw, in this case, with an incisive pass from beside the net—and a sure-handed finish. A fairly ordinary play for Hossa, but the milestone is anything but.
8: Other active NHL players with 900 or more career points. The list of Hossa's fellow club members reads like a future Hall of Fame ballot: Jaromir Jagr (PHI), Teemu Selanne (ANA), Nicklas Lidstrom (DET), Daniel Alfredsson (OTT), Joe Thornton (SJS), Jarome Iginla (CGY), Ray Whitney (PHX) and Jason Arnott (STL).
9: Points in Hossa's current six-game point streak (2G, 7A) dating back to March 9.
20: Points scored by Hossa in his last 18 games (9G, 11A) dating back to Feb. 14. He has been held off the scoresheet only three times in that span.
33: Hossa's age when he logged his 900th point, the fifth-youngest to reach that mark among active players, after Jagr, Selanne, Thornton and Iginla.
73: Games played as well as points for Hossa this season. The Slovakian winger has maintained a point-per-game pace the entire season and is poised to record his highest point total since the 2006-07 season, when he racked up 100 as an Atlanta Thrasher.
95: Hossa's 900th point put him in a tie with former Blackhawk Tony Amonte for 95th on the NHL's all-time points list.
195: Games played as a Blackhawk since signing a 12-year deal prior to the 2009-10 season. With Chicago, Hossa has logged 79 goals and 103 assists for 182 points.
970: Career games needed for Hossa to reach the 900 milestone. He played his 900th NHL game on Oct. 13 in a 4-3 victory over Winnipeg at the United Center.
1000: The next milestone. With Hossa signed through 2021, anything is possible.
