Gary Suter became the first Chicago defenseman to register a hat trick in a playoff game on April 24, 1994, but it took Jeremy Roenick's overtime goal to nip Toronto 4-3 in Game 4 of the conference quarterfinals.
Suter was inducted into the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame in the fall of 2011; here is his induction video:
