1st Star: C Luke Johnson, University of North Dakota (NCHC)
The Line: 2GP, 2G, 2A
Johnson enjoyed a breakout weekend for North Dakota, which swept a two-game set at Western Michigan. The 2013 fifth-round selection netted his team’s first two goals in Friday’s 3-2 win, then added a pair of helpers the next night, also a 3-2 victory. Johnson is now tied for third in team scoring with nine points (3G, 6A) through 16 games in his freshman campaign.
2nd Star: C Kevin Hayes, Boston College (H-EAST)
The Line: 2GP, 2G, 1A, +4 plus/minus rating
Hayes scored in both of his outings last weekend, extending his goal streak to three games, and BC swept New Hampshire by a combined score of 8-3. Hayes’ tally stood as the game-winner in Saturday’s 2-1 win, and he added an assist on the opening goal, bringing his season total to 24 points (10G, 14A) in 16 games.
3rd Star: C Joakim Nordstrom, Rockford (AHL)
The Line: 1GP, 1G, 1A, +4
Nordstrom split the week between Chicago and Rockford, but made a positive impact in his one appearance with the IceHogs, a 5-3 victory at Charlotte on Saturday. He assisted on the opening goal, then tallied one of his own in the second period.
Garret Ross recorded the first multi-goal game of his professional career on Saturday, scoring two in Charlotte, including the eventual game-winner. Ross became the 10th IceHogs to hit double digits in points, with 10 (6G, 4A) in 24 games this season.
Vincent Hinostroza missed three weeks with an injury, but resumed his stellar season last weekend as Notre Dame split a two-game homestand against Massachusetts. The 2012 draft pick notched an assist in both tilts and now ranks second on UND with 11 assists and 14 points.

Ryan Hartman also returned from a injury that kept him out of the Plymouth lineup for nearly a month. He collected a pair of assists on Friday in a 4-3 loss to Sault Ste. Marie.
Victoriaville goalie Brandon Whitney started all three games for the Tigres last week, going 1-2-0 and collecting his second shutout of the season after making 28 saves against Saint John.
Chris Calnan registered his fifth assist of the season in Boston College’s 6-2 win over New Hampshire on Friday... Notre Dame defenseman Stephen Johns recorded a helper on the game-winning goal in Friday’s 5-3 win over Massachusetts. His four goals this season are tied for a collegiate career-high single-season mark.
Klas Dahlbeck scored an insurance goal for Rockford and added an assist in the IceHogs’ 5-3 win over Charlotte on Saturday. Dahlbeck has 15 points (7G, 8A) in 26 games this season... Brandon Pirri made his first two appearances for Rockford since the first week of the campaign and collected two assists, his fourth and fifth of the season... Brad Winchester picked up an assist in Friday’s 3-2 overtime loss at Charlotte, then scored his sixth goal of the season the following night.
