1st Star: C Teuvo Teravainen, Jokerit (SM-liiga)

The Line: 2GP, 1G, 4A

Another big week from Teuvo Teravainen propelled Jokerit to two straight wins, as Chicago’s 2012 first-round pick posted five points (1G, 4A). Teravainen scored his fifth goal of the season and added an assist on Tuesday in a 5-1 win over KalPa, then collected three helpers in a 7-1 win over TPS Turku on Saturday. He continues to lead the team with 31 points (5G, 26A) in 35 games.

2nd Star: LW Jeremy Morin, Rockford (AHL)

The Line: 4GP, 2G, 2A

Morin recorded points in three of four games for the IceHogs last week, including his first multi-goal game of the season on Sunday; the two goals were scored 23 seconds apart in the third period in a 4-3 come-from-behind overtime victory at Milwaukee. He also notched an assist in consecutive games earlier in the week, losses vs. Toronto and at Milwaukee.

3rd Star: C/RW Kevin Hayes, Boston College (H-EAST)

The Line: 2GP, 3G

Hayes extended his career-long point streak to 12 games dating back to Nov. 29 after tallying in both of Boston College’s wins last week. The 2010 first-round pick opened the scoring in a 4-1 win over Merrimack on Tuesday, then netted a pair of goals—including the game-winner—in a 3-2 win over Penn State on Friday. The Eagles lead Hockey East and rank second in the nation with an average of 3.37 goals scored per game.

Honorable mentions: C Anthony Louis, Miami (NCHC); D Sam Jardine, Ohio State (BIG10)

Miami split a weekend set against Colorado College, losing 4-1 on Friday before recording a big 6-1 win the next night. Louis collected three points in the second period as part of a five-goal RedHawks outburst, including a goal and an assist on the power play. The Winfield, Ill., native leads team freshmen with 13 points (5G, 8A) in 22 games this season.

Ohio State split two games at Wisconsin over the weekend, with sophomore defenseman Jardine picking up helpers in both tilts. The 2011 sixth-rounder notched a power-play assist on Friday in a 5-3 loss, then added two more the next night—one on the game-winner and the other on an empty-netter to seal the 3-1 result. Jardine has eight assists in 21 games this season.

Around the system:

Vincent Hinostroza played a big role in Notre Dame’s 3-0 win over Northeastern on Saturday, which preserved a weekend home split. Rockford won two crucial games to go 2-2-0 last week, and a handful of players made significant contributions on the scoresheet. He made 70 saves on 77 shots for a .909 percentage in that span.
