San Jose, Calif. -- Back on the ice and practicing with his teammates Monday afternoon, Dave Bolland's return to duty appears to be imminent, just three days after leaving the game in Vancouver with a lower-body injury.
Blackhawks Head Coach Joel Quenneville said it was "very likely" that the 26-year-old center will be in the lineup when the Blackhawks face the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday. The Blackhawks and Sharks are currently numbers one and two in the Western Conference, respectively, going into Monday night's games.
“When you do feel a lot of pain anywhere you always have that thing in the back of your head that it could be broken,” Bolland told reporters on Monday. “And with a 48-game year, it really cuts (your season) down if something serious does happen. I’m just glad nothing was broken or was serious.”
Bolland currently ranks fourth on the Blackhawks with three goals in eight appearances, and four points (3G, A) overall. The Mimico, Ont., native has scored seven points (G, 6A) in 11 regular-season matchups against the Sharks.
