Comcast SportsNet launches Blackhawks Stadium Series coverage from Soldier Field next week

Chicago, IL (February 20, 2014) – Comcast SportsNet, the television home for the most games and most comprehensive coverage of the defending Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks, is ready jump start one of the biggest sporting events in Chicago history – the “2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series” game featuring the Blackhawks hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins LIVE from Soldier Field on Saturday, March 1 -- with a week-long barrage of extensive on-air/online coverage beginning the week of February 24.

Comcast SportsNet’s week-long “2014 Coors Lights NHL Stadium Series” coverage will be highlighted by LIVE, Soldier Field remote editions of Chevy Blackhawks Pregame Live (5:30 PM CT) and Blackhawks Postgame Live presented by Hawk Chevy (approx. 8:30 PM) on Thursday, February 27. These special remote editions of Blackhawks Pre/Postgame Live, hosted by Pat Boyle and Steve Konroyd, will surround the Blackhawks first game back from the Olympic break as they travel to face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden (6:00 PM face-off) and will provide viewers with a sneak peek look inside Soldier Field, as the famed home of the NFL’s Chicago Bears prepares itself for its first-ever NHL game.

Following Blackhawks Postgame Live presented by Hawk Chevy on February 27, Comcast SportsNet will present viewers with an original, half-hour special entitled Stadium Series: Soldier Field. This special presentation, hosted by Boyle & Konroyd, will include new “Stadium Series”-focused interviews with a number of Blackhawks players, including Patrick Kane, Jonathan Toews, Patrick Sharp, Marian Hossa, Duncan Keith and Corey Crawford, along Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville. Additional highlights include a look back to the 2009 “NHL Winter Classic” outdoor game that was held at Wrigley Field, a detailed feature on Soldier Field’s transformation and preparation for the big game, along with the rink creation, plus - a game breakdown & preview of the Blackhawks-Penguins outdoor match-up. NOTE: Stadium Series: Soldier Field will also re-air on Sat, March 1 at 5:30 PM prior to Chevy Blackhawks Pregame Live.

On Saturday, March 1, Comcast SportsNet will be on-site for “2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series” game night with yet another special, LIVE, Soldier Field remote edition of Chevy Blackhawks Pregame Live (hosted by Boyle & Konroyd, along with SportsNet Central reporters Chris Boden & Luke Stuckmeyer and CSNChicago.com Blackhawks “Insider” Tracey Myers) beginning at 6:00 PM. Blackhawks Pregame Live will be followed by SportsNet Central presented by AT&T U-verse at 6:30 PM with even more expanded cut-in coverage and interviews LIVE from Soldier Field.

Immediately following NBC’s national “2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series” Blackhawks vs. Penguins game telecast beginning at 7:00 PM, viewers can look forward to an expanded edition of Blackhawks Postgame Live presented by Hawk Chevy immediately following the game at approx. 9:30 PM LIVE from Soldier Field. Boyle & Konroyd, along with CSN’s coverage team, will provide a complete game recap/analysis, plus live coverage of the post-game press conferences, including Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville’s, along with player interviews and much more.

Throughout the week, viewers can also tune into SportsTalk Live presented by Land Rover at 5:00/5:30 PM (hosted by David Kaplan) for lively discussion regarding the big outdoor game, which will include interviews with Blackhawks front office execs, coaches and players.
