Chicago Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw is not making the trip to Minnesota with his teammates and is out for Game 3 of the Western Conference Second Round series against the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday (9 p.m. ET; CNBC, TSN, RDS2).
Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said Shaw might be able to play in time for Game 4 on Friday.
Shaw has a lower-body injury that knocked him out of Game 1 midway through the first period after he absorbed a big hit by Wild defenseman Clayton Stoner along the boards in the offensive zone. He missed his first game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs in Game 2 on Sunday.
Shaw has two goals and four points in seven postseason games after scoring 20 goals and 39 points in 80 regular-season games.
The Blackhawks lead the best-of-7 series, 2-0.
