Hawks Welcome Military Families For Holiday Event

The scene was set for the perfect winter wonderland as defenseman Brent Sopel and his wife, Kelly, welcomed 20 families into their home to help ease the burden that the holidays can bring.
Through the help of Operation Homefront, members of the Blackhawks - including Sopel, Jonathan Toews, Duncan Keith and Colin Fraser - adopted military families in need and provided them with food and holiday gifts. The families could not have been happier with the support that the members of the Chicago Blackhawks provided to make their holiday one to remember.

Operation Homefront is a program designed to provide emergency assistance and morale to our troops, for the families they leave behind and to wounded warriors when they return home.
