Some memorable dates this week in Blackhawks history:
- On the same date in 1995, Hawks captain Chris Chelios scored the game-winning goal 6:22 into overtime in Game 3 of the Western Conference Semifinals to beat Vancouver 3-2. Chelios repeated the feat two nights later to give the Hawks a four-game sweep of the Canucks, sending them to the conference finals against Detroit.
- On May 26, 1992 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals at Pittsburgh, Mario Lemieux capped a four-goal rally by scoring in the final minute of regulation to give the Penguins a 5-4 decision over the Hawks.
- At the Chicago Stadium on May 30, 1992, a crucial face off win late in the first period resulted in the only goal of Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals - a tally by Kevin Stevens - as Pittsburgh prevailed 1-0 to take a commanding 3-0 edge in the best-of-seven series.
