Seabrook Out 4-6 Weeks; Babchuk Recalled
Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that defenseman Brent Seabrook suffered a sprained left knee in Wednesday night's game versus the Nashville Predators and is expected to be out from 4 to 6 weeks. Defenseman Anton Babchuk has been recalled from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League.
Seabrook was injured on a second period hit in front of the Blackhawk bench and did not return. He underwent an MRI on Thursday which revealed the sprain.
Babchuk had been recalled from Norfolk on December 5th and played in 5 games for the Blackhawks scoring 1 goal and adding 2 assists for 3 points with 4 penalty minutes and a +1 rating. His goal at Nashville on December 15th was his first career NHL goal. He played for Norfolk on Wednesday night at Binghamton and picked up a goal and two assists in an 8-6 win.
