Blackhawks Sign Adam Burish
| Captain of NCAA Champion Wisconsin Badgers Inks Deal with Blackhawks
Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have signed forward Adam Burish to a two-year contract. Burish, 23, was selected by the Blackhawks in the 9th round, 282nd overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. A natural leader, the 6-1, 189 pound center served as captain of the Badgers for two seasons. In his senior season in 2005-06, Burish's Badgers captured the NCAA National Championship. He notched five points (1 goal and 4 assists) in four playoffs games while also tallying an assist and a plus-1 rating in the National Championship Game against Boston College. For the season, Burish ranked third on the team in scoring with 33 points (9-24) in 42 games and third on the team with a impressive plus-21 rating. A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Burish spent four seasons (2002-03 to 2005-06) at the University of Wisconsin. In his four-year career at UW, he appeared in 145 games recording 28 goals and 50 assists for 78 points and 213 penalty minutes. |
