Blackhawks Sign G Sebastien Caron
| Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have signed goaltender Sebastien Caron to a 1-year contract.
Caron (26, 6-1, 170) split the season between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pengiuns. He appeared in 26 games last season with Pittsburgh posting a record of 8-9-5 with a .881 save percentage and a 3.98 goals against average. He also appeared in six games with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League posting a 3-3-0 record with a 1.18 goals against average. In his career, Caron has appeared in 90 NHL games, all with the Penguins, posting a record of 24 wins, 47 losses, 7 ties and 5 overtime losses while notching a 3.49 goals against average. He was originally selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 4th round, 86th overall, in the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. |
