Admirals Fall To Pens In OT
NORFOLK (2) at WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PENGUINS (3) 1OT

NORFOLK, VA - Jonathan Filewich scored a power play goal 7:03 into overtime as the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins defeated the Norfolk Admirals 3-2 and took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven East Division Semifinals.

The Penguins netted the first tally of the game in the first period, as Marc-Antoine Pouliot's shot through a screen at 13:46 snaked past goaltender Corey Crawford.

Carl Corazzini tied the game at 1-1 early in the second period. He powered down the left wing and slid into the goalmouth with a defender draped over him. He muscled the puck underneath netminder Nolan Schaefer at 3:46 as the Wilkes-Barre defender crashed into his own net.

Norfolk capitalized on two simultaneous minor penalties by Tom Gilbert late in the second stanza to take a 2-1 lead. Cam Barker's shot through traffic made its way through Schaefer's legs at 15:47.

Wilkes-Barre turned the tables on Norfolk early in the third period and overtime as the Admirals fell into penalty trouble. While skating with a two-man advantage, Micki DuPont sent a shot from the blueline that eluded Crawford five hole at 5:53 to knot the game at two goals apiece.

The Penguins won the game on an overtime power play. Less than a minute into the man advantage, Filewich took a shot from the point that beat a screened Crawford 7:03 into the extra session.

Crawford (34 shots, 31 saves) was saddled with the loss. Schaefer (33 shots, 31 saves) picked up the win.
