NORFOLK (4) vs. WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PENGUINS (1)

NORFOLK, VA - Carl Corazzini had a goal and an assist and Corey Crawford made 24 saves as the Norfolk Admirals defeated the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 4-1 on Wednesday night at Scope. The Admirals have now tied the best-of-seven East Division Semifinals at 2-2 with Game 5 set for Friday night at Scope.

Norfolk dominated the game territorially in the first period. Under five minutes into the game, Jonas Nordqvist took a shot from the slot that went wide toward the left-wing corner. Norfolk captain Craig MacDonald corralled the puck from behind the goal line and swept a backhander past Wilkes-Barre netminder Nolan Schaefer at 4:32.

The Admirals doubled their lead midway through the second stanza. Jake Dowell batted a puck out of mid-air before sending a crisp pass to the slot. A waiting Reed Low one-timed the Dowell offering top-shelf, glove-side at 8:19.

Corazzini put the Admirals up by a three-spot early in the final frame. Much like he did in Game 3, Corazzini skated down the left wing with a half-step advantage on a Penguins defender and cut across the goalmouth, sending a wrister past Schaefer at 1:11.

Jean-Francois Jacques deflected a Micki DuPont shot past Crawford at 7:35. However, that would be the only blemish on the Norfolk scoresheet on the evening. Crawford stopped nine shots in the final frame and Nordqvist sealed the victory with an empty-net goal at 19:15.

Crawford (25 shots, 24 saves) earned the victory. Schaefer (29 shots, 26 saves) picked up the loss.

Norfolk was 0-5 on the power play. The Admirals limited Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to three power play opportunities on the night, none of which resulted in a Penguins goal.

1. Carl Corazzini - NOR
2. Corey Crawford - NOR
3. Reed Low - NOR
