World Junior Update: Blunden Tallies Goal, Assist

chicagoblackhawks.com will keep you up to date on the progress of the Top 20 Blackhawk Prospects (list below) throughout the 2005-06 season.

North American

D Cam Barker, Medicine Hat (WHL): Barker is one of 34 hopefuls participating in Team Canada's selection camp in Vancouver, BC for its 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team. Coach Brent Sutter split the players into two teams and the first of two scrimmages occurred on Tuesday night with the Red team posting a 4-0 shutout victory over the White team. Barker recorded an assist for Team Red. The second and final scrimmage will take place on Wednesday night. The Team Canada hopefuls will then compete against the University of British Columbia on Thursday night.

C/RW Dan Bertram, Boston College (College): Bertram left the Eagles to participate in Team Canada's selection camp for its 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team. Bertram went scoreless for Team White in the first of two scrimmages on Tuesday night.

RW Michael Blunden, Erie (OHL): Blunden notched a goal and an assist for Team Red in its 4-0 shutout win over Team White on Tuesday night in Team Canada's selection camp for its 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team. Blunden played on a line with Benoit Pouliot, the fourth overall pick by Minnesota in this year's NHL draft.

C Dave Bolland, London (OHL): Bolland left London to participate in Team Canada's selection camp for its 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team. He went scoreless for Team White on Tuesday night in the first of two scrimmages amongst the 34 Team Canada hopefuls.

C/LW Nathan Davis, Miami (College):
Davis was one of 22 players named to the 2006 U.S. National Junior Team on December 4. Team USA will open play at the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship on December 26 in British Columbia.

RW Jack Skille, Wisconsin (College): Skille will join Davis as he was also named to the 2006 U.S. National Junior Team on December 4.
