World Junior Update: Bolland Notches Three Points

chicagoblackhawks.com will keep you up to date on the progress of the Top 20 Blackhawk Prospects (list below) throughout the 2005-06 season.

North American

D Cam Barker, Medicine Hat (WHL): Barker assisted on Team Red's lone goal in its 8-1 loss to Team White on Wednesday night in the second and final intrasquad scrimmage at Team Canada's selection camp in Vancouver, BC for its 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team. Barker recorded an assist for Team Red in its 4-0 shutout victory over the White team on Tuesday night. Coach Brent Sutter will announce the final 22 man Team Canada roster on Friday. The hopefuls skate against the University of BC on Thursday night.

RW Dan Bertram, Boston College (College): Bertram switched lines with Team White teammate David Bolland for Wednesday night's scrimmage against Team Red and both lines produced much improved play from a 4-1 loss on Tuesday night. Bertram went scoreless in both contests but played with increased intensity and energy on Wednesday night.

RW Michael Blunden, Erie (OHL): Blunden went scoreless in Team Red's 8-1 loss to Team White on Wednesday night. Blunden notched a goal and an assist for Team Red in its 4-0 shutout win over Team White on Tuesday night in Team Canada's selection camp for its 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team.

RW Dave Bolland, London (OHL): Bolland switched lines with Dan Bertram and responded with a goal and two assists as Team White throttled Team Red 8-1 on Wednesday night at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver. Bolland is positioned to be one of the 22 skaters named to the Team Canada roster for the 2006 IIHF WJC team on Friday.

C/LW Nathan Davis, Miami (College):
Davis was one of 22 players named to the 2006 U.S. National Junior Team on December 4. Team USA will open play at the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship on December 26 in British Columbia.

LW Karel Hromas, Everett (WHL): Hromas was named to Czech Republic's 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team. The tournament will begin on December 26 in British Columbia. Hromas has 17 points (8-9) in 31 games for Everett on the season.

RW Jack Skille, Wisconsin (College): Skille was named to the 2006 U.S. National Junior Team on December 4.

European

RW Denis Istomin, Vityaz Chekhov (RUS): Istomin was named to Team Russia for the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championships. The tournament will begin on December 26 in British Columbia.

C Jakub Sindel, Plzen (CZE): Sindel was named to Czech Republic's 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship team. The tournament will begin on December 26 in British Columbia. Sindel has eight points (6-2) in 16 games with Plzen on the season.
