WJC Update: Barker Leads Canada Past USA

North American

D Cam Barker, Medicine Hat (WHL): Barker scored the opening goal in Canada's 3-2 win over USA on Saturday night in the World Junior Championship ... He was paired with defenseman Kris Russell and had an even rating in the contest.

LW Adam Berti, Erie (OHL): Berti recorded his 19th goal of the season and a plus-1 rating in Erie's 4-3 win over Plymouth on Friday night.

C/RW Dan Bertram, Boston College (College): Bertram was on a line with Ryan O'Marra and Tommy Pyatt in Canada's victory Saturday night and went scoreless with an even rating.

LW Bryan Bickell, Ottawa (OHL):
Bickell tallied his 27th goal and two penalty minutes in Ottawa's 4-3 loss to Belleville on Friday night ... He recorded a minus-2 rating in Ottawa's 4-3 win over Kingston on Sunday.

RW Michael Blunden, Erie (OHL):
Blunden skated with Benoit Pouliot and Jonathan Toews in Canada's 3-2 win over USA on Saturday night and had an even rating.

C Dave Bolland, London (OHL): Bolland was on a line with Andrew Cogliano and Kyle Chipchura in Canada's victory Saturday night over USA and finished with an even rating.

C Evan Brophey, Plymouth (OHL): Brophey was named third star of the game after recording his 34th and 35th assists and a plus-1 rating in Playmouth's 4-3 loss to Erie on Friday night ... He recorded a minus-1 rating in Plymouth's 8-1 loss to Windsor on Sunday.

RW Troy Brouwer, Moose Jaw (WHL): Brouwer notched four penalty minutes in Moose Jaw's 4-2 loss to Everett on Saturday night ... He was named third star of the game after recording his 28th assist, a plus-1 rating and four penalty minutes in Moose Jaw's 4-1 win over Tri-City on Monday night.

C/RW Adam Burish, Wisconsin (College): Burish had a plus-1 rating as the right wing on the top line in Wisconsin's 4-1 win over Western Michigan on Friday night ... He recorded his sixth goal and a plus-1 rating as the second line right wing in a 5-1 win over Northern Michigan on Saturday night.

C/LW Nathan Davis, Miami Ohio (College):
Davis notched an assist in USA's 2-2 tie with Switzerland on Friday night ... He skated on a line with Geoff Paukovich and Tom Fritsche ... He went scoreless on the same line in USA's 3-2 loss to Canada on Saturday night ... Davis was an extra skater during USA's 2-1 win over Czech Republic on Monday ... He went scoreless in the contest.

C Jacob Dowell, Wisconsin (College):
Dowell had an even rating as the third line center in Wisconsin's victory on Friday night ... He recorded his eighth assist and an even rating as the top line center in Wisconsin's victory on Saturday night.

RW Matt Ford, Wisconsin (College): Ford recorded a minus-1 rating as the second line left wing in Friday night's 4-1 victory over Western Michigan ... He recorded a plus-1 rating as the third line left wing in Wisconsin's victory over Northern Michigan on Saturday night.

C Ryan Garlock, Windsor (OHL):
Garlock tallied his 14th goal and a plus-2 rating in Windsor's 8-1 throttling of Plymouth on Sunday.

LW Karel Hromas, Everett (WHL):
Hromas recorded two assists in Czech Republic's 5-3 win over Slovakia on Friday night ... He skated on a line with Petr Pohl and David Krejci in the contest ... Hromas added his third assist of the tournament on the same line in Czech Republic's 7-2 loss to Russia on Saturday night.

LW David Kuchejda, Sault Ste. Marie (OHL): Kuchejda was named first star of the game after posting his ninth goal, 10th assist and a plus-1 rating in Sault Ste. Marie's 2-1 win over Sarnia on Friday night.

LW Chris Porter, North Dakota (College): Porter had an even rating as the second line right wing in North Dakota's 3-2 win over Harvard on Friday night.

RW Jack Skille, Wisconsin (College): Skille went scoreless and skated on a line with Tj Oshie and Nathan Gerbe in Friday night's tie with Switzerland ... He was also scoreless on the same line in Saturday night's loss to Canada ... Skille skated with Gerbe and Kevin Porter in a scoreless effort during USA's 2-1 win over Czech Republic on Monday.

European

C Jonas Nordqvist, Lulea HF (SWE): Nordqvist recorded his 13th and 14th assists of the season in Lulea's 5-4 loss to Mora on Monday ... He recently competed in the Rosno Cup for Team Sweden and went scoreless in three games.

C Jakub Sindel, Plzen (CZE):
Sindel skated on a line with Zdenek Bahensky and Michael Frolik in Czech Republic's 5-3 win over Slovakia on Friday night ... Sindel went scoreless as an extra skater in Czech Republic's loss to Russia on Saturday night.

C Jari Viuhkola, Karpat (FIN): Viuhkola notched his 18th assist of the season in Karpat's 5-1 win over Ilves on Friday.
