Sound Tigers Scratch Out Victory Over Ads

Bridgeport scored four unanswered goals in the last two periods to defeat the Admirals 6-3 on Sunday afternoon at the Arena at Harbor Yard.
The Sound Tigers took the lead midway through the first period. David Masse made a pass from the left face-off circle in front of the crease to Masi Marjamaki at the opposite post. Marjamaki beat Norfolk netminder Corey Crawford stick side at 9:07.
The Admirals answered four minutes later on the power play. Dustin Byfuglien sent a wrister wide to the right side of the net. The puck ricocheted off the end boards back to the right post where Matt Keith sent it into the back of the net at 13:34. The teams were even on the shot clock 8-8 and on the scoreboard 1-1 heading into the locker room after twenty minutes.
Bridgeport resumed the lead 4:39 into the second stanza, as Wyatt Smith took a shot from the point that Crawford stopped, but could not cover. The puck dribbled over the goal line for a five-on-three goal. Nathan Barrett tied the game at two goals apiece four minutes later. James Wisniewski took a shot from the right point that caromed off Dubielewicz to the blade of Barrett. The Norfolk forward beat the goalie stick side at 9:49. Two minutes later, the Admirals took the lead while on the man-advantage.
Martin St. Pierre sent the puck toward the net from the bottom of the left circle. Nathan Barrett found the puck off Dubielewicz's pads and sent it to Mark Cullen, who slid it past the Sound Tigers' netminder at 11:47. However, Bridgeport roared back with two goals in the last half of the middle frame. Jeremy Colliton tipped Robert Nilsson's shot into the net for a power play goal at 12:46.
Five minutes later, Chris Thompson scored off a tough-angle shot with 2:21 left in the period. Despite out-shooting the Sound Tigers 23-9 in the middle frame, the Admirals trailed by one goal after two periods.
The third period belonged to the Bridgeport power play and Steve Regier. Regier scored off a rebound with the man-advantage at 1:38, and then off a deflected one-timer on a five-on-three power play at 9:08. The winger's second goal capped scoring in the matinee, as the Sound Tigers defeated Norfolk 6-3.
Corey Crawford got the loss and made 20 saves on 26 shots. Wade Dubielewicz picked up the victory making 42 saves on 45 shots.
Norfolk was 2-7 on the power play. Bridgeport was 3-8.
