Admirals Drop Double OT Decision
EAST DIVISION SEMIFINALS GAME 3: NORFOLK (5) VS. HERSHEY BEARS (4), 2OT

Despite coming from two goals behind in the last three minutes of regulation, the Admirals fell in double overtime 5-4 to the Bears. Hershey now leads the series three games to none.

The Admirals got on the board first on the power play. Martin St. Pierre sent a pass from the right corner across the slot to Brandon Bochenski at the left circle. Bochenski sent a wrist shot over the left shoulder of Hershey goaltender Frederic Cassivi at 11:00.

Adam Munro made 13 saves to keep Norfolk up by a goal after twenty minutes.

The Admirals picked up another power play goal 2:10 into the second stanza to double their lead. James Wisniewski sent a slap shot from the left half wall that went through Cassivi's wickets.

The Bears clawed back to tie the game mid-way through the period. Munro stopped Mark Wotton's shot from the left circle, but Kris Beech collected the rebound and slid it into the cage for a power play marker at 6:13.

Hershey tied the game four minutes later, as Dave Steckel tipped a Boyd Gordon feed past Munro at 10:58. The game was tied after two periods.

Hershey took the lead off a shot that deflected at least two times off an Admirals defender, as Boyd Gordon made the score 3-2 Bears with exactly five minutes to play. Brooks Laich roofed a puck over Munro's shoulder with 3:02 remaining to build a two-goal Hershey lead.

However, Laich received a five-minute major penalty for high sticking six seconds later, and the Admirals took advantage of the power play. Nathan Barrett one-timed a pass from Bochenski at the goalmouth to bring Norfolk within one goal of the Bears with 2:16 remaining in the third period.

ark Cullen tied the game with just 1:43 left in regulation by depositing a rebound from a Wisniewski blast into the back of the net. The game needed overtime.

In the first overtime, Cassivi turned aside 12 Admirals' shots. Munro also prevented all nine pucks that he faced from crossing the goal line, as the teams skated into a second overtime.

Matt Keith nearly won the game in the first minute of double overtime, as his shot glanced off Cassivi's shoulder and the post. Laich won the game for the Bears with a wraparound goal 1:52 into the double overtime.

Adam Munro made 42 saves but was saddled with the loss. Frederic Cassivi picked up the win and turned aside 33 shots.

Norfolk was 4-12 on the power play. Hershey was 1-10.
