The Blackhawks selected nine players in the 2006 Entry Draft. chicagoblackhawks.com tells you where you're likely to find them playing next season.
1. C Jonathan Toews (3rd overall) Last Season: University of North Dakota (WCHA) This Season: North Dakota / Chicago / Norfolk - The youngest player in college hockey last year loves playing at North Dakota and knows he could use another year to grow. However, with Toews' skill -- and the fact that the Fighting Sioux won't be as talented next season -- there's a definite chance the Blackhawks could sign him and start him out in Norfolk if he doesn't make the Hawks roster in training camp. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes
2. RW Igor Makarov (33rd overall) Last Season: Krylja (Russia) This Season: Somewhere in the QMJHL - Victoriaville drafted Makarov in the CHL Import Draft, but look for the Russian sniper to sign with another 'Q' team. Makarov already plays a North American style and is eager to develop his game -- and learn English. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: No
3. D Simon Danis-Pepin (61st overall) Last Season: Univ. of Maine (H-East) This Season: Univ. of Maine - After appearing in just 25 games during his freshman year on a strong Maine team, look for Danis-Pepin to become a top four d-man logging lots of ice time, including on the power play. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes
4. C Tony Lagerstrom (76th overall) Last Season: Sodertalje Jr. (Sweden) This Season: Sodertalje - Look for the playmaking center to take the next step to the top of the Swedish Elite League this season. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes (Updated 6/28)
5. D Ben Shutron (95th overall) Last Season: Kingston (OHL) This Season: Kingston - Strong skating Shutron will return to Kingston for a third season. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes
6. G Joe Palmer (96th overall) Last Season: U.S. National Development Team This Season: Ohio State (CCHA) - Big, athletic goalie will be a freshman this season for the Buckeyes. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes
7. C Jan-Mikael Juutilainen (156th overall) Last Season: Jokerit Jr. (Finland) This Season: Somewhere in the USHL - Elusive center will likely play in the USHL in order to finish his high school diploma before moving on to play at a U.S. college. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes
8. C Chris Auger (169th overall) Last Season: Wellington (OPJHL) This Season: UMass-Lowell - One of the top scorers in the OPJHL, Auger will play in the Hockey East conference this season. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes (Updated 6/28)
9. C/LW Peter Leblanc (186th overall) Last Season: Hamilton (OPJHL) This Season: Univ. of New Hampshire - Leblanc will join Hawk prospect Joe Charlebois, a defenseman selected in 2005, at the University of New Hampshire -- also in Hockey East. Scheduled To Attend Prospects Camp in Chicago: Yes (Updated 6/28)
