C Evan Brophey, Plymouth (OHL): Brophey notched 4 assists -- one on the power play and on shorthanded -- in Plymouth's 5-1 win over Saginaw last Wednesday. Brophey, an assistant captain, was a +2 and was named the #2 star of the game ... On Friday, Brophey assisted on the game-tying power play goal in the 3rd period to force overtime. The Whalers went on to win 3-2 in a shootout ... Brophey closed out last week's action with two more assists in a 5-4 shootout loss Saturday to Sault Ste. Marie. He currently leads the OHL in assists with 13 and is tied for first in points.
C Adam Hobson, Spokane (WHL): Hobson went scoreless and was a -2 in Spokane's 4-2 loss to Vancouver last Tuesday ... Hobson, an assistant captain for Spokane, recorded an assist in Saturday's 4-3 OT loss to Tri-City.
European
C Petri Kontiola, Tappara (FIN): Kontiola went scoreless in Tappara's 5-1 win over SaiPa last Tuesday ... On Thursday, Kontiola scored the game-tying 3rd period goal, but Tappara fell to HPK 3-2 in overtime. He was named the 2nd star of the game ... Kontiola closed out the week's action with two assists in a 7-3 win over Assat Saturday. He was named the #3 star of the game.
RW Igor Makarov, SKA St. Petersberg (RUS): Makarov went scoreless in a 1-1 tie with Nijhnekamsk on Monday and an 8-3 loss to Kazan on Wednesday. Makarov has four goals in 11 games this season with SKA.
