Nathan Davis Named RBC Financial Group CCHA Player of the Month
OXFORD, Ohio — Miami University junior forward Nathan Davis (Rocky River, Ohio) has been named the RBC Financial Group Central Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Month for October after leading Miami to a 6-2-0 record with a league-leading 14 points on five goals and nine assists. Miami sits in first place in the CCHA at 3-1-0 heading into this weekend's series versus Northern Michigan.

Davis recorded six multi-point games for the RedHawks highlighted by a three-goal performance that included a pair of shorthanded goals in a 4-1 road victory over Michigan on Oct. 20. The win snapped a 20-game losing streak for Miami at Yost Ice Arena that dated back to Nov. 18, 1994. He also enjoyed a five-point weekend with a goal and four assists in an Oct. 13-14 sweep of Canisius and helped the Red and White to a 3-1-0 start in conference play with a goal and three assists in a pair of wins over Bowling Green on Oct. 27-28.

A fourth-round draft pick of the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Davis has scored eight shorthanded goals in 83 career games, which has him tied with Randy Robitaille (1995-97), who now plays for the Philadelphia Flyers, for first on Miami's all-time list.

Other nominees for the award were Notre Dame senior goalie David Brown, Alaska sophomore goalie Chad Johnson, Michigan junior forward Chad Kolarik, Bowling Green junior forward Jonathan Matsumoto and Northern Michigan junior forward Mike Santorelli.
