BRIDGEPORT, CT - The Worcester Sharks (10-7-1-3) became the first team to defeat the Norfolk Admirals (14-5-2-1) in regulation on home ice this season as they beat Norfolk 3-1 on Friday night at Scope.

After a scoreless opening period, the Sharks got on the board with a four-on-three power play marker 3:23 into the second stanza. Graham Mink utilized the extra space on the ice to get open near the goalmouth. He tapped in a cross-crease pass for his first goal of the season.

The Sharks took the lead with just 32 seconds remaining in the period. Riley Armstrong deflected a Mathieu Biron shot past a screened Corey Crawford for the go-ahead goal at 19:28.

Despite firing 11 shots on Greiss in the third period, the Admirals were unable to find the equalizer. Craig Valette tallied an empty net goal with 1:09 remaining to seal the win for Worcester.
