Day 1 Scrimmage Recap

GAME 1

TEAM A (RED) - 3

TEAM B (BLACK) - 4


Game one of Training Camp started off fast and furiously with a goal 24 seconds in by Team Red's Tomas Kopecky and Patrick Kane on the assist. No more than a minute and a half later Colin Fraser netted a goal with Jack Skille on the assist, putting Team Red in an early lead 2-0. Team Black retaliated with 2 goals the first goal from Brian Connelly and an assist from Evan Brophey, and the second Danny Bois with the goal and Jacob Dowell the assist tying the game 2-2 at the end of the first period. Punches were thrown in the first period between Bracken Kearns and Jacob Dowell.

The second half began with a slow start, but quickly picked up speed toward the end of the period with a goal by Team Black's Jacob Dowell, assisted by Kyle Beach. Team Red counteracted with a goal from Ben Eager, and assist by Bryan Ewing. Tied up 3-3 with two minutes remaining Team Black's Brett Sopel put one between the net to seal the deal and make it 4-3, Team Black victory. The second period featured two fights, first Adam Hobson and Michael Brennan settling things on the ice, followed by Coliln Fraser and Danny Bois.

Team Red's goaltenders Joe Fallon and Cristobal Huet both gave up two goals apiece. Team Black's Antti Niemi let in two goals, while in the second period Alec Richards only let one in the net.

GAME 2

TEAM B (BLACK) - 4

TEAM C (WHITE) - 1


Team White came out of the gates putting the puck in the net 36 seconds into the first period thanks to Dustin Byfuglien with the goal, and assists by Kris Versteeg and John Madden. Team White's first goal would be there only goal of the game. Team Black fought back and netted an unassisted goal by Brent Sopel finishing out the first period.

The second period was dominated by Team Black scoring three goals within five minutes. Starting off with a goal from Patrick Sharp, assisted by Evan Brophey and Andrew Ladd. Sharp's goal was followed by Rob Klinkhammer scoring with Jacob Dowell, and J.C. Sawyer on the assist. Team Black solidified their victory with a puck between the posts from Cam Barker, assisted by Jonanthan Toews.

Team Black's goaltender Alec Richards gave up one goal. Team Red's Corey Crawford let one through, while Joe Palmer gave up three goals.
