The Chicago Blackhawks have assigned forward Jeremy Morin to the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Morin, 19, made his National Hockey League debut on Nov. 6 at Philips Arena against the Atlanta Thrashers and registered four shots on goal, two blocked shots and one takeaway in two games with the Blackhawks. He leads Rockford with three power-play goals and has tallied four points (3G, A) in eight AHL tilts this year in his professional debut.

Originally acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Thrashers on June 24, 2010, Morin tied for fourth in the Ontario Hockey League with 47 goals and ranked 12th with 83 points in 58 regular-season games in his rookie season with the Kitchener Rangers during the 2009-10 campaign. The Auburn, New York, native captured a Gold Medal with Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Championships, collecting five assists and seven points in seven games during the tournament.

The Blackhawks will host the Phoenix Coyotes at the United Center on Wednesday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 P.M. The game can be seen locally on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and heard on News 720 WGN.
