Blackhawks make roster moves
Marcus Kruger and Steve Montador on Injured Reserve; Dylan Olsen and Andrew Shaw on active roster
Olsen, 21, was the Blackhawks first selection (28th overall) in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft. He has tallied one goal, one assist and 38 penalty minutes in 30 regular-season tilts this year with the IceHogs in his first full professional campaign. Over parts of the last two seasons, the Calgary, Alberta, native has registered six points (G, 5A) and 48 penalty minutes in 72 regualr-season AHL contests.
Prior to his professional debut, Olsen registered 24 points (2G, 22A) and 71 penalty minutes in 53 tilts over parts of two collegiate seasons (2009-2010) at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Last winter he captured a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2011 World Junior Championships, registering two assists in seven games, and he also posted four points (2G, 2A) and a +4 plus/minus rating in six games with Team Canada at the 2009 Under-18 IIHF World Championships.
Kruger, 21, has tallied three goals and seven assists in 34 games this year with the Blackhawks in his first full NHL season. Over the last two years the Stockholm, Sweden, native has recorded ten points (3G, 7A) and 16 penalty mintues in 41 regular-season contests, and one assist and a+2 rating in five Stanley Cup Playoffs tilts.
Montador, 32, paces club defensemen with five goals and two power-play markers, and has notched ten points (5G, 5A) and a +1 rating in 38 games in his first season in the Blackhawks organization. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native has recorded 127 points (33G, 94A), a +28 rating and 779 penalty minutes in 557 regular-season tilts over parts of ten NHL seasons, and eight points (3G, 5A) and a +11 rating in 43 career Stanley Cup Playoffs contests.
