Rockford IceHogs Training Camp to begin Sept. 30

The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and proud affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks announced on Thursday the team’s 2012 training camp schedule.

The IceHogs will begin the team's 14th training camp and sixth as the affiliate of the Blackhawks on Sunday, Sept. 30, with the first practice at the BMO Harris Bank Center beginning at 1 p.m. All training camp practices that take place at the BMO Harris Bank Center will not be open to the public.

The pre-game skate on Saturday, Oct. 6 at Riverview Ice House will be free and open to the public, with players hitting the ice at 8 a.m. and the split practice running until 10 a.m.

Training camp for the IceHogs will feature three exhibition games, including one in Rockford on Thursday, Oct. 4 against the Milwaukee Admirals at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7:05 p.m.

The Hogs open the preseason slate against the Chicago Wolves on Wednesday, Oct. 3 at West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows at 7 p.m. The team will then conclude its preseason schedule on Saturday, Oct. 6 against the Peoria Rivermen at Carver Arena at 7:05 p.m.
