Blackhawks Launch 85th Season on Saturday, Jan. 19
Training Camp Festival Canceled
In conjunction with the National Hockey League, the Chicago Blackhawks announced their 2012-13 regular-season schedule today. The organization’s 85th regular season begins when the club faces off against the Los Angeles Kings in the NHL’s opening matchup on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2:00 p.m. CT at the Staples Center.
Ten of Chicago’s first 12 games will be played on the road, including a season-long six-game swing from Jan. 30-Feb. 10. Chicago’s only other trip longer than two games is a four-game stretch from March 14-20.
The Blackhawks will open their 24-game home schedule on Tuesday, Jan. 22 when they host the St. Louis Blues at 7:30 p.m. CT at the United Center. Thirteen of the club’s 24 contests in Chicago take place on weekends, including seven Fridays, one Saturday and five Sundays. Chicago will skate in a season-long seven-game homestand from Feb. 12-25 equaling a franchise-long originally set during the 1926-27 season (matched in 1951-52 and 1969-70).
For the fifth-consecutive season, all Chicago Blackhawks games will be televised in HD on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and WGN-TV Channel 9, the official television broadcasting partners of the Blackhawks, with Pat Foley and Eddie Olczyk providing the call. Every game in 2012-13 can also be heard on WGN Radio AM-720, with John Wiedeman and Troy Murray calling the action. The complete television broadcast schedule will be released at a later date.
Tickets for 2012-13 regular-season single games are on sale now exclusively at ticketmaster.com or by calling Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Fans holding tickets for originally scheduled games will be contacted with further information on the status of their original purchase. Fans with any further ticket questions are encouraged to visit chicagoblackhawks.com or call the Blackhawks at (312) 455-7000.
Due to the condensed schedule for the 2012-13 regular season, the 2012 Blackhawks Training Camp Festival has been canceled. Tickets purchased via Internet and phone will be automatically refunded. Refunds for all other tickets are available at the point-of-purchase or by sending tickets to the Chicago Blackhawks at 1901 W. Madison, Chicago, IL 60612. The Chicago Blackhawks Training Camp Festival will return for the 2013-14 season.
