Blackhawks announce 2012-13 local and national broadcast schedule
In conjunction with the National Hockey League, the Chicago Blackhawks today announced its 2012-13 regular-season local and national television schedule. Nationally, the Blackhawks will appear exclusively on NBC (including NBC and NBC Sports Network) a total of seven times, the maximum allowed per the league’s national television agreement. Locally, 41 Blackhawks games will air on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and WGN-TV Channel 9, the organization’s official television partners. A complete regular-season television schedule can be found here.
Chicago’s eighth consecutive campaign on Comcast SportsNet features 39 contests, beginning with a rematch of the 2012 Western Conference Quarterfinal against the Phoenix Coyotes at Jobing.com Arena on Sunday, Jan. 20 at 9:00 p.m. CT. “Blackhawks Pregame Live” will air prior to the majority of games on Comcast SportsNet, with “Blackhawks Postgame Live” immediately following each contest.
The Blackhawks’ fifth consecutive season on WGN-TV launches on Friday, Apr. 20 at 7:30 p.m. CT when the team hosts the Coyotes at the United Center. Chicago makes two appearances on the station, which was also its home from 1961-1975. Veteran announcers Pat Foley and Eddie Olczyk will provide the coverage on each Comcast SportsNet and WGN-TV local broadcast, all of which can be seen in high definition.
In addition to airing locally on Comcast SportsNet Chicago, Blackhawks games on Jan. 20 (at Phoenix), March 25 (vs. Los Angeles), April 9 (at Minnesota) and April 15 (vs. Dallas) will also be broadcast nationally on NBCSN, increasing the Blackhawks’ total national television appearances to 11.
