Blackhawks recall goaltender Karlsson from Rockford

Karlsson, 29, has appeared in four games with the IceHogs this season, posting a 2-2-0 record with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage. The Stockholm, Sweden, native was acquired from Calgary on Jan. 21 and made his Rockford debut on Feb. 1 at San Antonio. Karlsson earned his first win as an IceHog on Feb. 5 at Texas.
The 6-6, 209-pound goaltender appeared in 26 NHL games with the Flames from 2010 to 2012, earning a 5-9-8 record with a 2.79 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage in those contests. Prior to making his North American debut with Calgary, Karlsson spent parts of two seasons in the Swedish Elite League from 2008 to 2010.
The Blackhawks return to action tonight when the San Jose Sharks make their first trip to the United Center this season. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. The game can be seen locally on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and heard on WGN Radio AM-720.
