Blackhawks to honor Hossa's 1,000th NHL game

The commemorative jerseys will be worn by each member of the Blackhawks during warmups and will all sport Hossa’s name and number, 81. Each jersey will then be autographed by Hossa and the player who wore the jersey, and will be auctioned off to fans on chicagoblackhawks.com beginning on Tuesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. and running through 12:00 p.m. on Monday, March 11.
Proceeds from the sales will be split between Hossa’s Heroes and Blackhawks Charities. Hossa’s Heroes is a non-profit organization aimed at providing community service and educational support, as well as assisting with the development of youth sports.
Hossa, who signed with the Blackhawks as a free agent on July 1, 2009, has recorded 921 points (426G, 495A) over the span of his 15-year NHL career with Ottawa, Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Detroit and Chicago. The 34-year-old Stará Lubovna, Slovakia, native also helped the Blackhawks to their first Stanley Cup in 49 years, recording 15 points (3G, 12A) during the 2010 postseason.
