Blackhawks agree to terms with Handzus and Rozsival
Rozsival, 34, tallied 12 assists in 27 games last season during his first year in Chicago. He earned a season-high two assists twice (Jan. 20 at PHX and Feb. 25 vs. EDM) and scored the game-deciding goal in his first-career shootout attempt on April 1 vs. NSH. The Vlasim, Czech Republic, native added four assists in 23 Stanley Cup Playoff games, including a post-season high two helpers in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on June 19 at BOS. Rozsival has recorded 272 points (64G, 208A) in 783 career games with Pittsburgh, the New York Rangers, Phoenix and Chicago from 1999 to 2013. He owns 18 points (4G, 14A) in 75 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Handzus, who was acquired by Chicago from San Jose on April 1, tallied eight points (2G, 6A) in 39 games last season with the Sharks and Blackhawks. The 36-year-old forward posted six points (1G, 5A) in 11 games following the trade to Chicago, and added 11 points (3G, 8A) in 23 post-season games. The Banska Bystrika, Slovakia, native recorded points in a playoff-high five consecutive games (2G, 3A) from May 25 to June 2. Handzus has earned 467 points (181G, 286A) in 950 career NHL games with St. Louis, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Jose and Chicago from 1998-2013. He has 43 points (14G, 29A) in 97 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
