Blackhawks assign Nordstrom to Rockford
The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have assigned forward Joakim Nordstrom (JOH-keem NORD-struhm) to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have assigned forward Joakim Nordstrom (JOH-keem NORD-struhm) to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Nordstrom, 21, has scored one goal in eight games this season with the Blackhawks. The Stockholm, Sweden, native scored his first-career National Hockey League goal on Oct. 11 vs. the New York Islanders.

The Blackhawks return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 22 when they travel to Sunrise, Fla., to take on the Florida Panthers. The game is scheduled for a 6:30 p.m. CT start and can be seen on CSN Chicago or heard on WGN Radio AM-720.
