Handzus to return in Edmonton
The Blackhawks forward corps, which has been slightly diminished due to injury and other absences lately, will receive reinforcements on Monday in Edmonton, as Michal Handzus will return to action for the first time since Oct. 24.
The veteran forward, who has been sidelined for 14 games with an upper-body injury, has recorded a goal and two assists in nine games this season with the Blackhawks. He has scored 20 points (6G, 14A) in 39 career matchups against the Oilers.
On the blue line, injured defenseman Michael Kostka, who has missed the last 15 games with a lower-body ailment, rejoined the team in Alberta and took part in the morning skate on Monday. He will not play against the Oilers, but Head Coach Joel Quenneville said it is possible he could return to the lineup at some point during the team's current seven-game road trip.
