The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Dillon Fournier (FOHR-nee-ay), the team’s second-round pick (48th overall) in the 2012 National Hockey League Entry Draft, on a three-year contract.

Fournier, 19, has tallied 32 points (13g, 19a) in 36 games with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He has recorded a career-high tying three points (1g, 2a) three times (Oct. 27 at Val-d’Or, Nov. 30 at Saint John and Dec. 12 vs. Blainville-Boisbriand), and has scored a career-best tying two goals twice (Oct. 25 vs. Val-d’Or and Dec. 20 vs. Gatineau).

The Montreal, Quebec, native has registered 108 points (31g, 77a) in 207 career QMJHL games with Lewiston and Rouyn-Noranda from 2010 to 2013, and was named to the Canadian Hockey League Top Prospects Game following the 2011-12 campaign. Fournier was selected by Lewiston with the first overall selection in the 2010 QMJHL Entry Draft.

Fournier also appeared in six games for Team Quebec in the 2011 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, earning three points (1g, 2a) in those contests.
