Blackhawks agree to terms with Regin
Regin, 28, split the 2013-14 season between Chicago and New York, tallying four points (2g, 2a) in 17 games with the Blackhawks and seven points (2g, 5a) in 44 games with the Islanders. He was acquired by Chicago on Feb. 6 and made his Blackhawks debut on Feb. 7 at ARI. Regin scored his first goal as a member of the Blackhawks in his second game with the team on Feb. 27 at NYR. He also appeared in five Stanley Cup Playoff games with Chicago.
The Herning, Denmark, native has earned 66 points (23g, 43a) in 239 career regular-season NHL games with Ottawa, the NY Islanders and Chicago and has posted four points (3g, 1a) in 11 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with Ottawa and Chicago. He also appeared in 56 games with the Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League during the 2008-09 season, recording 47 points (18g, 29a). Prior to his North American career, Regin registered 58 points (25g, 33a) in 150 career games with Timra of the Swedish Hockey League from 2005 to 2008. He has represented his native Denmark in international competition 14 times, including six appearances at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010).
Regin was selected by the Ottawa Senators in the third round, 87th overall, of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
