Gotovets agrees to deal with IceHogs

The Rockford IceHogs have agreed to terms with defenseman Kirill Gotovets (KAH-rihl GOH-tuh-vehts) on an AHL contract for the 2014-15 season.

The 23-year-old born in Minsk, Belarus completed his senior season with Cornell University in 2013-2014 where he played in 32 games and tallied four points (1g-3a). Gotovets made his pro debut in the 2013-14 season with the Milwaukee Admirals where he participated in one game. He then appeared in the World Championship for the Belarus national team, and played a total of seven games.

The 5-11 d-man started his college hockey career with Cornell University in the 2010-11 season. During his college career, Gotovets played in 112 games and chalked up 19 points (3g-16a).

Gotovets was selected in the 7th round (#183 overall) by Tampa Bay in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Chicago received the rights to Gotovets from Tampa Bay in a trade for Philippe Paradis on April 2, 2013.
