SCOTTY BOWMAN
SENIOR ADVISOR, HOCKEY OPERATIONS

Scotty Bowman is in his seventh season with the Chicago Blackhawks as Senior Advisor to Hockey Operations. A part of 13 Stanley Cup-winning teams, including the 2010 and 2013 championships with the Blackhawks, Bowman brings 58 years of hockey experience to the organization.

Bowman, a Montreal native, is the National Hockey League’s all-time coaching leader with 1,244 regular-season wins and 223 postseason victories. Prior to joining the Blackhawks, Bowman served as a consultant in the Detroit Red Wings front office for seven years.

Inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame as a builder in 1991, Bowman is the only man in the history of the sport to lead three different teams to the Stanley Cup and has reached the league finals 13 times as a bench boss. He captured the Cup with the Montreal Canadiens (1973, 1976, 1977, 1978, 1979), Pittsburgh Penguins (1992) and Red Wings (1997, 1998, 2002). He served as Director of Player Development on Pittsburgh’s Stanley Cup-winning club in 1991 and most recently celebrated his 13th league title with the Blackhawks in 2013.

Bowman coached an NHL-record 2,141 contests and captured the Jack Adams Award as the league’s best coach twice (1977, 1996). He also spent time as Head Coach of the St. Louis Blues (1967-71) and the Buffalo Sabres (1979-87), guiding his squads to the postseason in 29 of his 30 years. Bowman and his wife, Suella, have five children, including son Stan, who currently serves as Blackhawks Vice President/General Manager.
