MinorHawks Learn to Play

What is MinorHawks?*

- MinorHawks is a “Learn to Play” program for kids ages 4-8, sponsored by the Blackhawks, Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI) and USA Hockey.

What is the cost?*

- Each location varies in cost, but all sessions average about $10 per session!

I don’t have equipment, what is provided?*

- You don’t need equipment!
- Participating MinorHawks locations will provide participants with free rental equipment, rental skates and a Blackhawks jersey!

If you already have equipment, you can still participate!

How do I get started?*

Check out the list of locations below for a rink in your area and ask them if they have a MinorHawks/Learn to Play program. If you can’t find a program near you, contact the Blackhawks at youthhockey@chicagoblackhawks.com or 312-455-7056.

*Please note that participating programs may run at different times during the year. Not all programs are yearlong and may offer Learn to Play programs that are NOT a part of the MinorHawks program. Check with participating rinks for detailed information on specific programs.

*All MinorHawks programs are run and staffed though the participating rinks. Chicago Blackhawks coaches/staff do not teach MinorHawks programs.
