VICE PRESIDENT, TICKET OPERATIONS AND CUSTOMER RELATIONS
Chris Werner is in his fifth season with the Blackhawks and his third as Vice President of Ticket Operations and Customer Relations, having been named to the position in September 2010. Werner joined the Blackhawks in the spring of 2008 as Senior Executive Director of Ticketing and Business Development.
In his first season with the Blackhawks, Werner worked to expand and develop the ticket sales and service departments. In 2008-09, the Blackhawks drew more than 1 million fans (1,052,261) for the first time in franchise history, set a league record by attracting an average of 21,783 fans to their 40 United Center contests and surpassed the franchise regular-season attendance record of 835,972. At the start of the 2012-13 campaign, the Blackhawks have entertained 190 consecutive capacity crowds, and the franchise’s season-ticket base has grown to more than 14,000.
Under Werner’s direction, the Ticket Operations and Customer Relations Department has been expanded to include staff dedicated to the highest levels of customer service, including providing ticketholders with personalized service, developing value-added customer benefits and researching the demographics and interests of Blackhawks fans.
In addition to traditional ticket sales, the Blackhawks Ticket Operations and Customer Relations Department supports the distribution of Blackhawks Convention passes, Training Camp Festival tickets and Illinois High School State Hockey Championship game tickets.
Prior to joining the team, Werner spent 23 years in the live event industry, most recently as General Manager of Ticketmaster Chicago. In addition to his work in ticketing, Werner has senior-level experience in venue management and event promotion, working for entities such as Ogden Entertainment Services, the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority and the University of Iowa.
Werner was born and raised in the western suburbs and currently lives in Chicago with his wife, Valorie.
