Chicago Blackhawks Charities Fundraising

A majority of Chicago Blackhawks Charities fundraising comes from our fans during in-game activities. Last season our supporters helped us raise over $1 million, which will be distributed to our 2011-12 grant recipients. In addition, Chicago Blackhawks Charities has partnered with other nonprofit organizations to support their fundraising efforts by donating a percentage of funds raised during Blackhawks home games.

Split the Pot Raffle
Chicago Blackhawks Charities puts on a Split the Pot raffle during each home game.  One lucky fan walks home with 50 percent of the net proceeds from that night’s raffle ticket sales, and the other 50 percent of the proceeds benefit Chicago Blackhawks Charities.  The Split the Pot raffle made $695,430 this past season, with the highest raffle raising over $13,000 for Chicago Blackhawks Charities.

Silent Auction
During each home game, Chicago Blackhawks Charities has a silent auction located at Section 104 and Section 333.  By entering into a partnership with Frameworth Sports Marketing, Chicago Blackhawks Charities is able to give the fans the opportunity to bid on unique framed and player-autographed items for each game.  All proceeds from the silent auction go directly to Chicago Blackhawks Charities to help serve the current grant recipients and local communities.

Pick a Puck
During select home games, the Blackhawks Better Halves sell autographed wrapped pucks.  Fans can make a $30 donation to CBC to receive a mystery puck autographed by one of the current Blackhawks players.  In 2010-11, CBC made over $33,000 during holiday games and the NHL’s Hockey Fights Cancer Awareness Night.

There is nothing like a Blackhawks fan come playoff time: all-heart, all-passion and, if we get it our way, all beard.  The Beard-a-Thon is a fundraiser for fans to show their playoff spirit by growing a beard and pledging money for charity throughout the playoffs.  Whether a fan is “growing one for the team” or sponsoring someone else, fans can watch beards grow for a good cause.

Home Team Goals Presented by Verizon Wireless
Verizon Wireless donates money for every goal scored by the Blackhawks during a regular season home game. The money is donated to Chicago Blackhawks Charities, which uses it to support domestic youth violence prevention.
