2002-03: Tuomo skated in 30 games for HIFK Helsinki of the Finnish Elite League (SM-Liiga) recording 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points and 24 penalty minutes… Served as Captain of Team Finland at the 2003 Under-20 World Junior Championships en route to winning a Bronze Medal and leading the tournament in scoring and ranking second in assists… Suffered a season-ending knee injury in mid January… Selected as The Hockey News number four rated NHL-affiliated prospect in the world in 2003 by panel of NHL executives in the publications 15th Annual Future Watch issue despite suffering a season ending injury in January… Named by The Hockey News as top player in the World not playing in the NHL during the 2002-03 season in the publication's September 9, 2003 edition.
2001-02: Posted 23 points (7g, 16a) in 51 games in his second season with Jokerit of the Finnish Elite League (Sm-Liiga)… Served as Assistant Captain with Jokerit… A member of Finland's Bronze Medal winning team at the 2002 Under-20 Would Junior Championships while serving as a Assistant Captain… Appeared in 10 playoff games recording six assists and 29 penalty minutes for Jokerit en route to capturing the Finnish Elite League (SM-Liiga) Championship… Selected as The Hockey News Number 1 NHL-affiliated prospect in the world in 2002 by panel of NHL executives in the publication's 14th Annual Future Watch edition.
2000-01: Was the youngest player in the Finnish Elite League (SM-Liiga) playing for Jokerit recording 11 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 47 games… Also appeared in two games for HIFK's Under 20 team in the Finnish Junior League recording one goal… Skated for Finland at the 2001 Under-20 World Junior Championship winning a Silver Medal… Appeared in five playoff games recording four penalty minutes with Jokerit before suffering a knee injury in the first round of the playoffs that ended his season.
1999-00: Spent the majority of the season with HIFK Helsinki's Under-20 team of the Finnish Junior League recording 11 goals and 16 assists for 27 points and 32 penalty minutes in 35 regular season games… Also appeared in three playoff games with HIFK's Under-20 squad recording one assist and four penalty minutes… Appeared in one game with HIFK Helsinki of the Finnish Elite League (SM-Liiga) recording two penalty minutes… Made his international debut winning a Gold Medal at the the 2000 Under-18 World Junior Championships while serving as a Assistant Captain.
