CURTIS BRACKENBURY
DIRECTOR OF PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Curtis Brackenbury is in his first season with the Chicago Blackhawks. He was named Director of Performance Development for the club on October 16, 2007.

“Curtis is going to work closely with our strength, conditioning and skating coaches to insure that all our performance programs are working together to help the team’s overall performance,” Blackhawks general manager Dale Tallon said.

Brackenbury has achieved world-class success in three different sports. As a hockey player, Brackenbury played 11 years professionally in both the NHL and the WHA. Following his hockey career, Brackenbury went on to perform as a triathlete, completing the 1985 Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii and then sailed for Canada in the 1987 America's Cup in Perth, Australia.

After competing as an athlete, Brackenbury became a research associate at the Australian Institute of Sport. His enthusiastic pursuit of knowledge and acquisition of data to build profiles and create customized strategies for coaches and players in both the athletic and corporate arenas.

Brackenbury is President of Scipertek International, a multidisciplinary company providing innovative solutions to maximize human performance and optimize intra-team relationships. Scipertek combines propriety management practices with scientific expertise of world-renowned educators, coaches, and specialists to establish the company as a leader in sports performance.
